“I glanced quickly at Matthew and Domenico, but they were still talking outside the chateau’s walls.”

Over the years, readers have asked me if there were chapters that were cut from the books in the All Souls Trilogy.

The answer: only two. One would have appeared right after chapter 21–a chapter from Matthew’s point of view, that let us listen on this conversation between him and Domenico. The second was in SHADOW OF NIGHT, and it detailed the journey from the Old Lodge to Mont St. Michel. In both cases, we felt they didn’t do enough work for the story, so we left them out to improve the pacing–and make the books ever-so-slightly shorter.

Good news, however: both chapters will appear in next year’s THE WORLD OF ALL SOULS, The Complete Guide to A Discovery of Witches, Shadow of Night, and The Book of Life, coming 8 May 2018. They’re available to preorder now, see my previous post (click here) for details and buy links.
