It’s been a big month. There’s a lot going on in the world of All Souls. So here are the headlines:

ALL SOULS CON. Tickets are now on sale for the 2017 All Souls Con on September 23, 2017 in New Orleans. After just a few days of sales, conference organizers tell me there are already nearly 200 people participating in the event in NOLA and on line from all around the world including Israel, Brazil, Ireland, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Portugal, Mexico, and the US. The 2017 All Souls Con promises to be an event that gives you an immersive experience in the world of Diana and Matthew, as well as lots of insider information on the upcoming television serious, the All Souls Companion, and future novels in the All Souls World.

This year, the ticket structure has been simplified to bring you one, all-inclusive, more affordable pass for the on-site event. Early bird tickets for $79 offer a savings of $20 until June 15, Matthew’s re-birthday. Don’t worry, there are plenty of passes for everyone! Any proceeds from the sale of tickets will benefit the Bodleian Library in Oxford, via Bodley’s American Friends.

On-site tickets give you:
· Full access to all sessions
· Autograph & photo ops
· Goodie bag
· Beverages
· Contests
· Free WIFI

Visit AllSoulsCon.org/tickets to purchase yours.

If you can’t join us in New Orleans, Penguin Random House has sponsored FREE Online Streaming. You can request an online pass by visiting AllSoulsCon.org/livestream.

There are direct flights into NOLA from 43 cities. The new NOPSI Hotel, a 1920s era historic building, will be the home base for the convention. This brand new, yet historic, hotel is offering Con attendees a discount using the code “ALLSOULS.” Book your room now at AllSoulsCon.org/hotel.

There is a special Facebook page just for those joining the Con online or in persion: https://www.facebook.com/groups/AllSoulsCon/. It’s a forum to exchange ideas about the things we can do in NOLA, pre and post-convention. Feel free to share your thoughts. There are 7 months to brainstorm, coordinate activities, and just have fun. The organizers will share convention updates as plans solidify (panels, guests, etc.).

Finally, the Con runs on volunteer support. If you would like to volunteer to help with a range of activities, from on-site logistics to decorations, you can get more information and sign up here: AllSoulsCon.org/volunteer
We hope to see you there!

TV ADAPTATION: Things are percolating in the world of television, too. We are fast approaching our anticipated summer filming date. As a result, the writing room is filling up with new writers. We are now working with a director. Sorry, I’m not able to share more details, like a name–only the broadcaster and Bad Wolf can do so. The director and producer have gone off to Italy to see some locations that might be featured in the production. Expect things to be pretty vague until the cast is in place and shooting is about to happen. At that point, I imagine the official announcements will be made. And of course, things can still happen to delay shooting (like cast availability, location problems, etc.). Stay tuned!

THE ALL SOULS TRILOGY COMPANION: Viking has the manuscript in house for the richly-illustrated, full-of-information, almost-everything-you-wanted-to-know-and-I-am-willing-to-tell-you companion to the trilogy. We had hoped to have it out this year, but we are doing some pretty fancy foldouts and color illustrations thanks to the talented artist Colleen Madden so they want to take their time with layout and printing. Can’t argue with that! So expect it in the first quarter of 2018, around the same time as the TV series (fingers crossed!) and shortly before the new book set in the All Souls World (fingers crossed and recrossed!) Those of you attending the All Souls Con in September (on line or in person) will get a sneak peek into the process of drawing together all the information for the companion (it took five women nearly a year…) and what fresh goodies we’ve included for you Easter Egg Hunters (like Gallowglass’ full name and Marcus’s birthdate), and probably a glimpse at those gorgeous illustrations.

That’s all I’ve got for now. I’m in the final month of classes and focused on getting my students through to the end of the year. This is the time of the semester when energy flags, so I’ve got my work cut out for me. I’m also writing every single day, doing lots of research for the new book(s), and trying to stay healthy and sane through it all. Speaking of which I’ll have your Pinterest inspiration board for April up this weekend so that you can get a jump start on all the promise that those showers bring.

See you next month, or before (if there is news to report).
